A. Quincy Jones, Nordlinger House #1, 1948

Located in Bel Air, Nordlinger House #1 was A. Quincy Jones’ first residential commission for a client. When BoydDesign began the restoration work, the pool had been buried in the yard and the structure had been neglected for decades. Working with original drawings from the UCLA Archive BoydDesign restored the orignal configuration, editing out layered additions in the breakfast area, adding back the built-in L sofa and rebuilding the exterior redwood detailing. The gardens by Garret Eckbo were also restored and rejuvenated.
